Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based RV Retailer LLC received rezoning for an RV dealership development in Buda, Texas, during a recent City Council meeting, according to a report by Art Benavidez at the Virtual Builders Exchange.
RV Retailer recently acquired the dealership and is proposing the demolition of the current site and construction of a new RV dealership.
“We are planning to build a world-class Airstream store in the Austin, Texas market similar to our Airstream of Tampa dealership that is rated No. 1 in the world for Airstream sales,” RV Retailer President & CEO Jon Ferrando told RVBusiness. “The Austin market has excellent demographics for us to grow our Airstream business over the next decade-plus. The new Airstream store facility will provide an exceptional customer experience in both sales and service. We are also planning to build a brand new dealership facility next to the Airstream store that will sell and service a wide range of new RV product lines. These new stores will be modernized with state of the art service bays for our service technicians and an Airstream storefront consistent with the iconic look and feel of Airstream.”
The 23-acre property, Explore USA & Airstream of Buda, is located at 15855 S. I-35, west of FM 2001, and south of East Goforth Road, and is the current site of the existing Camper Clinic RV dealership.
The demolition would include two buildings; four metal carports; a wood shed; a metal shed; concrete and asphalt, along with an abandoned barn; five existing power poles and overhead electric lines in coordination with Pedernales Electric Cooperative Inc.; an existing fence; and the removal of several trees.
RV Retailer will develop Explore USA & Airstream of Buda under two phases. Phase I will include a one story building, with a height of 27-feet, that will hold the showroom, associated parking and a six foot wrought iron fence.
Phase II will include a second showroom building and another one story building with a height of 35-feet, along with a service shop.
The development of Explore USA & Airstream of Buda will be a $38 million total dealership investment by RV Retailer which includes a $15 million facility investment.
